We offer a range of workshops to introduce you to tools and implement them to support teaching and learning.

  • Getting started with Ultra


    For any colleagues who have joined the University in the last year, this session will provide an essential introduction to the Blackboard Learn Ultra VLE.

    Available as a synchronous session and an on-demand guide.

  • Prepare Ultra sites for teaching: Guided walkthrough


    A step-by-step guide to updating a rolled-over site or preparing a new site from template, helping you get ready for teaching and meet all of the essential VLE site design principles.

    Available as a synchronous session and an on-demand guide.

  • Prepare Ultra sites for teaching: Power Hour


    Ring-fenced and supported time to prepare your site(s):

    • 5 minutes sharing what you will do during the hour.
    • 50 minutes working on your site, with breakout room available for questions and support from your host.
    • 5 minutes sharing what you’ve achieved.
  • Getting started with Mentimeter


    This session will provide you with a 'student experience' of Mentimeter, showing you a wide range of question and interaction types that can be used to support teaching. We will then go 'under the hood' to show you how to create and deliver your own Mentimeter presentations.

  • Getting started with Padlet


    Padlet is a flexible web-based tool for collaborative and individual project work and discussion. This session will introduce you to the tool and show you how to set up and deploy padlet boards for teaching and learning.

  • Getting started with Ultra Test


    Learn how to set up quizzes and tests within your Ultra sites to support learning, teaching and assessment.

  • Ultra Assignment: marking


    A demonstration of accessing submissions, marking and giving feedback in Ultra Assignments, with opportunity to ask questions and try out marking in a sandpit site.
