Workshop: Ultra Essentials for teaching staff

An introduction to the key skills needed to prepare your 23/24 Ultra site.

This workshop covers four key aspects of developing a module site in Learn Ultra:

  1. New VLE site design principles: what makes a good VLE site?
  2. Introduction to Ultra: key differences to Original
  3. The new Ultra template: structure, placeholders
  4. Preparing your module site: editing the template, building content, reusing content from Original sites

We run this workshop regularly, both on-campus and online. If you'd like to attend a session, see our Workshop calendar for sessions details and how to book.

The training contains tasks where you can explore an Ultra site both as a student and as an editor.

To complete editing tasks, you'll need access to an Ultra sandpit site. You'll receive a sandpit site if you sign up to a synchronous workshop session (through your department or a centrally bookable session). However, you can work through the training content without a sandpit site to learn the basics of using Ultra.
