Use AI within Mentimeter

Summary

Mentimeter provides an 'AI Assistant' option for you to use AI (OpenAI) during the creation of Mentimeter presentations and questions, and in order to analyse and make use of your results.

You will see the ‘AI assistant’ tab in any existing or new presentation where you can choose from suggested actions or add your own prompts.

Using AI tools effectively

AI-generated content is a starting point for your own content development rather than a finished product. You must always carefully check that output is accurate and appropriate for your intended use and adapt as needed.

Creating / editing Mentimeter presentations

For creating / editing Menti presentations, the AI assistant now makes it possible to upload a powerpoint to use as context for question slides. Once uploaded, you will be taken through a step-by-step process of prompting to clarify your preferences before the presentation is actually created.

Analysing and using results

For presentations with results, the AI assistant provides a summary of responses and allows you to explore different aspects of the results and prompts for suggested actions to follow.

Open response grouping and summarising

While open responses can provide you with richer responses, it can be challenging to make sense of open responses in live sessions, especially in larger group reaching. The AI-powered open response grouping tool offers a useful start point for doing this in order to give feedback on a greater range of responses during teaching.

The AI Assistant was introduced at the start of the 2026-27 academic year and further information on this will be provided here.
